Chris. provided four ‘Lifemusic’ sessions at this year’s Arundel Festival on the 19th. October.
Each sessions ran for 40 minutes and there were 25 participants, mainly children and young people, but also adults gathered in the Festival Marquee. Each session began with everyone choosing an instrument which then led into group improvisations. There were then experiences of leading and following, changing rhythm patterns before deciding on a theme for an improvisation chosen by group members. These included ‘The Jungle’; the Castle from ‘Frozen’; ‘Life on Mars’ and ‘A Music Experience’. Each group created a picture on the ground of their piece using fabrics and tissue paper as well as resources which came to hand. It was great to see the youngest of 3 months moving to the rhythm and grandparents joining in the celebration!
